Dan Eagling recently competed in the Britcar night race held at Donington Park, Dan was invited to drive the the Redgate/Virgo Motorsport Ginetta G55 along side the regular drivers Matt Smith and Peter Smith for the 4 hour endurance event. Lifetime racing have been working with the team this season with data analysis and engineering so Dan had a good understanding of the team and the car. The Ginetta showed good pace all weekend and at the end of the tricky 4 hours the team finished second in class and seventh overall. All three driver had to overcome issues during their stints, notably Matt when a light shower mid race made conditions very hard and Dan in the last 15 minutes having to save fuel and retain second position. The team all performed well having to service the car in five pit stops and were very happy to finish the season on the podium.

Lifetime Racing were at Donington Park for the HRDC Coys International Trophy meeting on Saturday running Andrew Marler’s 1965 TVR Griffith. The car was competing in the GTS65 race which was a 1 hour pit stop race, Dan Eagling was sharing the driving duties with Andrew and started the 25 minute qualifying session. Andrew drove in the second half of qualifying and at the end of the session the pair had secured second on the grid. For the race Andrew started and when the lights went out he made a great start and led the race, as the race settled down Mike Whitaker in his similar TVR moved ahead of the Lifetime Racing car. As the pit stop window opened Andrew was one of the first to make the move into the pits after his competitive stint to hand the car over to Dan. As Dan settled into to his 40 minute stint the gap to the leading car started to drop and it looked like a chance of the win might be possible, then with 15 minutes left in the race the TVR suffered fuel pump failure. Dan switched to the back up pump but the gap had grown to much again and the team had to settle for second. Again Improvements were made on the car and both the team and drivers are looking forward to the next race at Oulton Park for the HSCC Guards Trophy.

1st July 2012

Dan continued with good pace and by the chequered flag had claimed the class win and fastest lap.  Lifetime Racing now have a few weeks before the car is out on track again to work on improving the car to insure that the good result at brands is followed by more.

The GEM09 of Adrian Langridge scored two strong points finishes at the last round of the BARC  Clubmans Cup. The car ran in its first race since new development rear rockers had been fitted to the car and the feedback from Adrian was very positive. Lifetime racing’s Dan Eagling tested the car with the Langridge team the day before, after fitting the new parts Dan got down to some lap times under the Silverstone lap record and felt the car had a very good balance and inspired confidence. Work commitments will prevent Adrian competing in the next rounds of the championship so more testing will take place to continue the development.

14th May 2012

Adrian Langridge had his first race of 2012 racing the GEM09 that has been recently rebuilt by Lifetime Racing. Brands Hatch hosted the second round of the BARC Clubmans Cup and Adrian qualified 3rd for the first race of the weekend on Saturday morning just 0.05 seconds off pole and converted that into a podium finish in the afternoon finishing 3rd. On Sunday he went one better in qualifying and was second on the grid for the afternoon race. This time he took the lead from the start and built a one second gap to the chasing pack. Unfortunately Adrian made a mistake and went off damaging the GEM’s suspension so he had to retire the car. Next race is Silverstone and Lifetime Racing are busy making some update parts to try and  help get Adrian on to the top step of the podium.

We have just returned from Pau in south France where we ran Tupper Robinson in his Mallock MK4 F3 car in the annual historic meeting that is held on the very exciting street circuit. The car ran well in both free practice and qualifying on Saturday and again on Sunday when Tupper finished both races just outside the top ten. Every time Tupper took to the track his lap times improved as he became more comfortable with the demanding circuit and the Mallock which he has little experience driving.
